Penetration New Album & Tour November 2024

The last time we heard Penetration musically (not counting the Shake Some Action/ I Don’t Mind single) was their 2014 album and their appearance at last year’s Rebellion Festival.
Now with a new album and a short tour, Punk77 asked Pauline of Penetration what they are up to and some questions about their past which will come in another update.
Pauline Well, we’ve got this tour coming up in November, so we’ve started to rehearse for that. We don’t play very often so this will be a bit special. We’d also found the recording of our run through from 2007 of Moving Targets when we were rehearsing for the 100 Club gig. It’s got a different drummer and guitarist from now and the sound was a lot rawer and looser and done in our own Polestar Studio.
So for this tour we’ve decided to do the whole of Moving Targets plus other songs. We’ve gone back and really listened and taken out all the extra bits that have crept in like extra drum fills or me playing the tambourine all through Stone Heroes instead of just accenting so we will play it like when we recorded it and give the songs space and let them breathe again.
This will be the first time we’ve done this since 1978 and we’re not sure when we’ll tour again so it going to be a bit special. Plus we’ve got the excellent Essential Logic supporting so we’re really looking forward to it.
After this tour we’ll be going back into the studio to demo some new songs.

As if that isn’t enough Penetration, Captain Oi are putting out their first 2 albums on an expanded 39-track 2CD set in December which the band didn’t even know was happening!
