Bug Facer – Spinosaurus Review 02.04.2025
Bug Facer, the East Yorkshire outfit take inspiration from a wartime dinosaur discovery…
This landed in my inbox and was a total surprise. The EP is Man Killed By Train but the pick is Spinosaurus. From the insane start that sounds like Monster Magnet exploding into a Killing Joke post-punk universe, the song delivers its payload about its completely off the wall subject matter. This is a frikkin great song that ticks all the boxes in sound, tempo changes, style and imagination.
In my imagination, I have them playing at brain-melting volume with all sorts of sonic distortion tricks fucking with my head. Very different, and as I said very very good. Hear for yourself and tell me I’m not smoking crack.

Here’s the PR
With previous tracks Fiery Demon Attacks Old Man On Bridge & Horsefly piquing the interest of Radio X’s John Kennedy, BBC Introducing’s Jericho Keys, Soundsphere, Aural Aggravation & other lovers of noise rock, East Yorkshire’s experimental doom punks Bug Facer are back with their new EP Man Killed By Train – 3 fan favourites from their live set released on renowned youth project come record label Warren Records & produced by Adam Pattrick.
The EP’s opening track Spinosaurus, with its psychedelic intro that moves through the noise to a savage land, is about the dinosaur & a tale around the 1st specimen discovered in Munich during WW2 but destroyed during a British bombing raid.
