Last Update 25/5/2002 Ok so you've looked through the site and you've felt inspired to go get some music or maybe you used to have these records and want them back in your life here is an incomplete guide to set you on your way. From cds that rarely cost more than £10.00 and include rarities, demos and live stuff to vinyl that will relieve you of much cash. Generally other re-releases are widely available like Generation X, Skids, Ruts Siouxsie and The Banshees etc at your local record store. Check out Bin Liner Records the punk part of Detour records at http://www.detour-records.co.uk/binliner.htm Has for sale Xtraverts retrospective 'So Much Hate' and some great compilations of rare punk 1977-1982 which include tracks by bands such as Disorder and the Amazing Space Frogs. They also released a superb cd of Cigarettes material that should be in everybody's collection. These boys deserve a medal for their dedication to '77 style punk rock and to researching and paying bands like they do. Give 'em a go. Some quality material there. Overground are back. They have released a lot of cd's collecting singles and demos and unreleased tracks from the famous to the more obscure bands. Check them out they are very good value. Bands featured are The Jerks, Art Attacks, Drones, The Shapes, ATV, Fruit Eating Bears, Maniacs, The Physicals, Compilations, Vibrators, Blitzkrieg Bop, Neon Hearts. Excellent label and re-releases at a decent price. This label more than any is keeping the spirit of punk alive Lets hope they get re-issuing some of the deleted titles. Captain Oi. All the big names here...a kind of punk and oi Tescos supermarket http://www.captainoi.com/ Anagram. The Sainsburies to Captain' Oi's Tescos with their punk collector series which often are re-issues of whole albums plus extra tracks so with the Drones you will get "Further Temptations" plus singles and bsides http://www.cherryred.co.uk/anagram/index.htm. Damaged Goods who combine vinyl and CD re-issues of rare records .These re-issues are limited some in coloured vinyl and often sell out quickly !! They hold the rights to Raw records so you know there is good stuff there. Recommended Look out for Users - Sick of You single, Killjoys - Johnny Won't Get To Heaven single, Sick Things, Unwanted, Snivelling Shits and Some Chicken. Remember the Live at The Roxy compilation album ? Well they release cd's of the bands whole set so you get Adverts, Buzzcocks, Boys, X Ray Spex, Slaughter & The Dogs. They also have cds by Chelsea ,999, Stranglers, Vibrators, Lurkers and various compilations. I would say deal in the lower end bargain basement end of punk re-issues. Visit them at http://www.trojan-records.com/ Jungle Records. Nearly 20 years ago I bought a Heartbreakers 12" which was a remix of Born to Lose and Chinese Rocks and One Track Mind. Now there seems even more re-issues of the Heartbreakers and Johnny Thunders !!!.That said they also sell on the site ATV - Live at The rat club, Slits - In The Beginning and the UK Subs Peel Sessions from 77-79. They also sell an excellent compilation called Punk Legends featuring yes you guessed it The Heartbreakers, Pere Ubu, MC5, Wayne County, Suicide, New York Dolls and Richard Hell and is much recommended.
